The Rape of Lucretia

This work depicts the rape of Lucretia. Lucius Collatinus and Sextus Tarquinius were at a wine party, and were debating the virtue of their wives.They tried to settle the dispute by seeing what their wives were doing, Lucretria was found dilligently weaving with her maids. In an act of jealousy, Sextus stealthily went into Lucretia's home at night, and awoke her giving her two options: Either she would submit to his sexual bidding, or he would kill her and frame her for aldultery with a slave. Tiziano Vecelli was a 16th century italian painter, porn in Pieve di Cadore, in the republic of Venice. His painting methods and application of color would have a great influence on future generations of western art.
